We're Stronger Together

About Newcastle Bipolar

We are a small peer-led support group in Newcastle upon Tyne for anyone affected by bipolar disorder, this could be yourself, a family member, a friend or a colleague.

We believe that engaging with individuals who have first-hand experience of bipolar disorder can offer valuable insights that professional treatment alone may not provide. Sharing the weight of your condition with others can make it feel lighter.

Meetings

One of the most practical benefits of attending our monthly group meetings is the wealth of collective wisdom in the room. Attendees will hear real life strategies from people who are walking a similar path.

A core principle of our meetings is that members can share as much or as little as they feel comfortable with. Listening and simply taking in others' experiences is equally valued.

The group operates on the principles of respect and confidentiality, ensuring everyone can discuss their challenges without fear or judgement.

Living with bipolar disorder can sometimes feel like an isolating experience. The shifts in mood and energy can be hard for others to understand, and it's easy to feel that you're navigating it all alone.

Feeling connected to a peer support group encourages people to open up, ask for assistance when necessary, and experience a sense of belonging. This connection lowers the chance of feeling isolated and offers valuable support during challenging moments.

Having a consistent support group during your difficult times can be a vital source of stability. It's a place to go to decompress and feel understood when the rest of your life feels uncertain.
